In terms of functionality, Europa offers 4 envelopes and 3 LFOs to choose from as modulation sources, and 3 separate sound engines, each with its own filter, modifiers, and controls in unison. There is a section at the top left of the GUI where you can select between motors 1-3, and you can create your own wave tables using envelopes 3 and 4 and selecting “Envelope 3-4 in the motor. The Shape knob will now change between the envelope shapes in slots 3 and 4. You can also create your own custom filter curve in the spectral filter by choosing “Envelope 4” and drawing your own curve.

One of the main features of Europe is that you can import your own samples and use them as sources, create your own custom wave tables with them, or even use them as filters. The latter works by generating a filter from an FFT analysis of the external sample that you loaded in the User Wave section, something I haven’t seen yet another waveform plugin synth offering! In terms of workflow, Europe is incredibly intuitive; I like that almost all buttons are easily visible for quick adjustments.

There’s an online version of the Europa web player with a help section on the right, so when you mouse over different sections of the synthesizer, you can read more about what each button does. I didn’t have to read the manual much when I was trying to figure out what Europe was capable of, but when I did, I found some very useful tips and tricks. For example, to create a classic vocoder effect, the manual says:

“Load a speech / voice sample into the User Wave section. Then set the Freq button to 50%, the Reso button to 0%, and the KBD button to 0%. Then ask one of the envelopes to modulate the Reso parameter using the modulation bus (see “The Modulation Bus section”). Create a positive ramp envelope (inverted sawtooth) and set the amount of Reso modulation to 100%. ”

Using the tips in the manual, I was able to produce very musical and inspiring sounds, and as a side note, I even decided to make a song just for Europa VST Crack with no additional audio effects or other synthesizers. I am happy to report that it was a success!

The format section in Europe allows you to add dirt and saturation to your sounds, and it’s also visually stimulating to see how it affects waveforms. I also found that the Unison options were really helpful in adding thickness and width, and the ability to add an octave, a fourth, or a fifth is also great.

Although I like that Europe is easy to navigate despite its complex functionalities, it is not the perfect synthesizer for everything. Although the filters and oscillators have a different character, they have an intrinsically digital quality and I had trouble emulating a Moog-like bass sound.

Also, you can only load one user wave at a time, which means that if you want to load your own sample to use as a filter, you cannot simultaneously use different noise as a sound source in the Sound Engines.

I also noticed that the navigation in the presets was a bit complex, because the dropdown menu does not allow subfolders. So if I want to go to a Bass Preset, I have to go to the Patch Selector (the little folder icon at the top right) and then select the “Bass” presets folder to access my Bass presets.
